Hollywood Undead

Hollywood Undead is mostly known as rap-rock, a.k.a rap-core or rap-metal band whom debuted at L.A. There are many questions to what genres of music they specialize in as in most of their songs, there are screams included with the raps and also heavy-metal music backgrounds. Hollywood Undead is often compared with the famous rock-band Linkin Park due to similarities of their music style.

The band was formed in 2005 by J-Dog and former member, Deuce. Currently the band consists of 5 members: Charlie Scene, Da Kurlzz, Danny, Funny Man and J-Dog. Adding to the uniqueness of their names, they wear masks idiosyncratic to each of their members, hence building on the enigmatic facade.

Hollywood Undead's first album's release was delayed by the difficulty of finding a record label that didn't try to censor their lyrics which might have been demeaning for easily offended ears. Finally finding their place in  A&M/Octone Records, their first debut album, Swan Song, got released on 2008, instantly landing them in Billboard 200 at #22. Selling 20,000 copies on the debut's album, Hollywood Undead earned their Gold Statues processing on getting Platinum.

The release of their second album, American Tragedy was on 2011, selling 60,000 copies on  its first week, leading to the 4th place in Billboard 200. The album featured their first single and the so-called provocative music video "Been To Hell". The band also released a single, "Comin' In Hot' for free off their album.

Their sound includes of live drum beats, electronic synthesizers, fused with traditional electric guitars and keyboards. A music devotee would recognize their music as rap-core, nu metal, crunk core, and indication of party hip-hop. The band members has mentioned that each of them specializes in one instruments, despite not being seen in concerts playing them.

The band also stated that the members write their own portion of the lyrics, ergo making sure the band is not focused on one single member. Like most of the rap lyrics, their lyrics ejects lust, anger, hatred, pain and out-and-out atrocity of the events occurring in the modern days.

All in all, Hollywood Undead's increasing popularities promises more albums to come for the awaiting fans.
