Adolescent Alcohol Use

There has always been certain amount of teens, especially in U.S, drinking alcohols underage, but the number has increased significantly of people between the age of 11 to 15 who drinks regularly. Also, the amount of beverages taken has increased as well. Adolescense is the time of a humans life where most physical, mental, emotional and social changes takes place, with the consquences of most teens having hard time to 'fit in' or find themselves. The increasing peer pressure in junior high and high school, will most likely to affect the young people to 'go along with the crowd' which leades to illegal drugs, late parties, alcohol uses and smoking. According to the science, people who started drinking since the age of 15 is more likely to be dependent on alcohol than people who started drinking since the age of 20. Teenages on alcohol results in dropping grades. Alcohol is known to be a main reason for dementia. The alcohol shortens the memory span of a person, and to the teenagers who has school and homework to do, it isn't something to be recommended of. Motor crashes is the leading cuase of the death among the age of 15 to 20. Alcohol interacts with the conditions such as depression and stress leading to suicide which is the 3rd leading cause of death amongst teenagers and young adults. In a study, 37% of eight grade femaleson drinking emphasized their attempts to suicide. It's 115 more than eigth grade females not drinking. Overall, the number keeps increasing, leading to deaths, sexual assults, and suicides.
